Jodi Jarvis-Therrian is back with episode 11 of Dog Blessed on the Muskegon Channel, brought to you by Clock's Timeless Pets, Must Love Dogs Boutique in Grand Haven and the CBD Store of Michigan. Jodi is super excited this week. She was recently certified as a judge for dog sporting competitions and competed the night before we taped with her beloved Olaf and there might be a little bit of boasting about ribbons that were won in this weeks episode. Understandably so as you'll find out in this weeks video.
Jodi will explain that the competition for her and Olaf isn't about the win in as much as it is quality time in a very simulating atmosphere for the dog. The connection between owner and pet is put to the test and the focus and drive that is shared between the two creates that bond that is essential to the relationship. A very key aspect of this competition is that it's based on positive response training. Working with your pet to reward what's right instead of punishing what was wrong. There are steps to make this happen and you'll see how this works with Jodi.
Jodi also makes sure to spare a couple minutes to show you one of the faces that could use a forever home. The pets currently housed at the Muskegon Humane Society are a part of Jodi's passion to find them where they belong for good. There's a special kennel at the shelter named after Odin J there and you get to meet the current resident!
