A few years ago, the idea was hatched that a day could be spent in the idea that 2 groups you'd never imagine benefitting from the same event could come together and see a successful day.  A bunch of bikers, wanting to do a good turn for the Muskegon County Motorcycle Division as well as No More Sidelines, a group of kids and families who have "unique abilities"?  Well, keep in mind where you live, this is Muskegon and collaboration is what we do and we're damn good at it.

June 24th at the Folkert Community Hub on Seminole Road, you'll find a day of activity at the Muskegon County Community Run.  Everything gets underway at 10a with a giant car show.  It's a free event for spectators and those with cars to display are asked for a $10 donation.  There will be raffles of all kinds, including an amazing get away on the Big Sauble River from Cabin On River.  Fun will be had as our area police jump in the dunk tank to "Dunk a Cop Instead of a Donut" and as history has shown, there's usually a lot more to see by way of big trucks and other vehicles kids really like to see up close.  It's a full day of fun, and if you're looking for a way to pitch in, you can always offer to volunteer to help out that day.

The purpose of the event is to help fund the Muskegon County Motorcycle Division which gets no funding from the county or state.  It's a 100% funded program by the community and thanks to the efforts of the Muskegon County Community Run in part, they recently were able to purchase a new Harley-Davidson for the division.  Back the Blue?  Here's your chance to prove it.  No More Sidelines is one of the areas most adorn organizations this began with a girl wondering why she didn't have "friends" like her brothers and sisters due to her autism, and a mom.....who asked herself, "Why doesn't she?"  Cyndi Blair, the organizations founder then set forth on creating a group that not only engages kids who might otherwise feel left out with each other, but even more.....they show the "normal kids" just how much different we are all not.  It's been a blessing to be a part of it since almost the very beginning.

Head on out June 24th for a great day for a great purpose and enjoy all of us doing what we do best!  Finding a need and taking care of it.
