Scent work is a fun and challenging team effort for you and your dog. One of the biggest benefits to scent work is that you are letting your dog exercise one of their most natural abilities. Using their whiffer, which in a dog is said to be 10,000 to 100,000 times stronger than a humans, is a stimulating event for the dog. Add in that it's not an overly expensive endeavor, all that's really needed is some q-tips and essential oils. This is also a leashed sport so dogs that are reactive or easily excitable to run off on ya, they won't be going far. Jodi and Paula Smith join forces this week to talk about the sport and provide an awesome display of it in action.
