To help those who need a hand the most is where we often find ourselves.  We're pretty proud of the idea that large or small events all make up what it takes to provide in our community and to spread the word about the work and get you updated on the necessity of the cause, well, that's what it's all about.  Every Woman's Place of Muskegon helps those effected by domestic or sexual violence and has been doing so for over 45 years.  In a perfect world, no community would need a domestic crisis shelter, but, we don't live in a perfect world and EWP is there.  To keep EWP there, we all need to pitch in and help.

Catherine Gage invited us down to catch up on the goings on at Every Woman's Place.  Catherine is the Development Director and is assimilating to her role quite nicely.  Part of the job as a Development Director is raising the money needed to operate as well as awareness of the mission to protect and defend the victims of domestic violence.  It's a big lift and in a community that's known for it's ability to raise money through events and gatherings like no other, coming up with new ways to entertain a crowd while providing a message as well as some education on the subject is a big act.  She's really come into a deep understanding of the agency and is getting to know the community well.  What an asset Every Woman's Place has found in her.  The next event is an exciting evening of delicious food and entertainment on April 11th at the Greater Muskegon Women's Club.

There's going to be a mystery theater played out that night after an amazing dinner provided by L'Soul Filled Catering.  It's a 21 and up event.  Check in and social is at 6 with a first crack at the silent auction.  Dinner to follow and then 7-9 the theater company will put on a full "whodunnit" to see if anyone in the crowd can piece together the clues!  It's a 20's and 30's theme and those attending are encouraged to dress the part and amplify the evening in spirit.  If you've never been to the Greater Muskegon Women's Club, it's an ornamental step back in time and as fine of place as you'll find in our community.  Tickets are on sale now and it's a great way to spend an evening of fun with a purpose based admission.

We are firmly committed to the work that Every Woman's Place does in our community.  The impact they have on the lives of the people that come to them is a forever change for good and it's also a breaking point for generational trauma that has plagued this community for far too long.  Please join us in the support of EWP any way you can by contributing, attending an event or just leaning more about their work at their WEBSITE.
