It's a beautiful Sunday and a chance to catch up on all things Dog Blessed with Jodi-Jarvis Therrian.  Did you know that April is "Dog Bite Prevention Month"?  It's true and Jodi is meeting up with one of our amazing sponsors Jodi Clock for a great discussion about some of the best practices and prevention methods out there.  Take a listen.

Think back to the old song. "When the dog bites....when the bee stings...when I am feeling sad...."  "When the dog bites.  If only it were that simple.  When times were long ago, the dog bite more often than not didn't end in the removal of the pet from the home with a possible end of life hanging in the balance for the offending pet.  We know by now with 105 episodes of Dog Blessed under our belt that making sure the environment around a pet is the key to getting the proper behavior out of them and that making sure there are boundaries set for those who will encounter your dog.  It can also depend on the dog or the situation.

Jodi talks about Olaf and his recent experience with his acting debut and being around so many new faces and in a completely different environment. It's perfectly ok to ask others to give your pet a little space and not smother them in a situation that's unfamiliar.  You are actually doing the best for all involved so that the people and the pets can be protected from the chance that something goes a little nutty, and a startle turns into a reaction and that "nip" becomes a headline and from there, we know the sad story.  It's a great discussion between 2 of our favorite Jodi's.

We are thankful to our amazing sponsors Clock's Timeless Pets and Must Love Dogs Pet Boutique in Grand Haven for their support of Dog Blessed on the Muskegon Channel.
