The idea sprung a couple years ago that Muskegon had one of the most magnificent presentations on the planet to celebrate the holiday season and since it sold out year after year, how could we send a little holiday spirit around the world?  Couple of meeting were held, some decisions were made and The Muskegon Channel was given the opportunity to try and pull off the largest project we had done to date.

The Lakeside District is filled with exquisite shops and charm almost like no other neighborhood in Muskegon.  You'll find store fronts with windows to peek through, you will find hidden gems that you might have to look a little deeper for and you'll also find a quaint social district where you can grab a favorite beverage and stroll up and down taking in the sights and sounds.  As Muskegon has grown, so too has Lakeside and the small business owners there invite you out to a couple special occasions coming up.  Louise Hopson from the Art Cats Gallery is here to share the news.

It's a great time of year for the wonderful smells that come out of the kitchen.  Beginning with Thanksgiving and through the rest of the holidays, the traditions and flavors of all of our family heirloom dishes come out.  Imagine having a sense of smell up to 100 times stronger than a human?  Jodi is going to show you step by step this week on how to make delightful and healthy treats for your dog and where to source the ingredients to assure that your pet is getting something delicious and nutritious.

If you remember back, a week or so ago, LaKisha Harris welcomed Brian Sanders to the show to introduce him and share his remarkable story.  Brian made some mistakes in his earlier days and spent time incarcerated.  In this time away, Brian could have become a statistic, but he was touched in a way in prison that most are not and took the time for self improvement, education, leadership and plans for the future.  Working with what he and some others could access from the commissary or eventually a garden they were allowed to grow, Brian set forth on a plan to become a chef and make it stick once he got out.  He even found a way to add a little more flavor to life behind bars for the holidays concocting a juice blend.  He's here to share it with you today.

A dog in a muzzle can send a message to those who just see it in a quick glance.  Could it be a mean dog?  Could it be an overly vocal dog?  Is that the dog that the guy from "Silence of the Lambs" had?  Jodi is here this week to dispel the rumors and the doubt.  Even the idea for pet owners who need to use a muzzle and feel some guilt, Jodi has some answers on Dog Blessed.

We had an amazing evening of fun at The Starlight Room on October 26th when we welcomed Muskegon Mayor Ken Johnson to Muskegon tonight live.  We also had Ambrosia Huber on to talk about her really awesome store and artisan shop called Puzzles Oddities and Ends and we wrapped up with music from Puffindown!  Puffindown will be playing a benefit for Kenzies Be Cafe on October 28th at The Starlight Room!  Catch some of their music here then see them live to benefit a great cause!

We regularly hold 'honors' celebrations, each at a deliberate, daily pace, aiming to cast a spotlight on the remarkable achievements taking place within our community. Sharing these accomplishments is at the very core of our mission. While other organizations may employ different methods to highlight these achievements, our ultimate objective remains constant: to uplift the individuals, voices, and causes that define Muskegon's unique identity. Whether through the efforts of individuals or groups, if you haven't taken a moment to observe the remarkable transformation of the past decade, you're missing out on an awe-inspiring evolution.

We're taking a fall tour this week on Dog Blessed with Jodi Jarvis-Therrian and her friend Jill.  Where are we heading?  The middle of nowhere!  Why are we heading there?  A little time off the grid and a little time to enjoy the splendor of all things Michigan in the fall which is not only fun for people, it's fun for their pets too, need to be ready to be in the middle of nowhere.  Preparation is key and that's what this weeks episode is all about.

Marie Cisneros here with another Paranormal Muskegon interview! This time I had another fascinating chat with Rick Waid via Zoom. This is Rick’s second visit with us. We had him on the show a few years ago where he told us about his work as a paranormal investigator and how he got started with it all. This time he talked more about his work as a Remote Viewer, Seer and Past-Life reader. Rick is also the author of three books; “Awakening of a Seer, ” “My Paranormal Journey, One Man’s Obsession.” and “The Eleventh Child,” his newest book.

Hey, hey, it’s spooky season! Time for all things October; Hot cider and donuts, pumpkin-carving, haunted houses, trick-or-treating, and snuggling up to watch scary movies. Maybe even indulge in some pumpkin spice or candy corn if you’re so inclined (love ‘em or hate ‘em, I think they’re here to stay for a while).

If you missed on on the Dog Blessed Fall Fest, have no fear!  Jodi is here and is ready to bring you some highlights of the weekend including some of the sounds you might hear under a steel roof with a heavy rain coming down!  It's certainly fall in Michigan, but Jodi has three great guests that were part of the festival to help share their passion for pets and pet people!
