It's another visit with our great friend and sponsor Shon Cook. She's an Attorney in Whitehall with a practice focusing on Family Law. Eric Stevens is in the practice too with specialties in criminal defense so if you're in need of an attorney, chances are you'll find the very best in a quaint little house tucked away on Slocum Road in the picturesque little town, but don't let the "small town" atmosphere fool ya. They are amazingly talented attorneys and they are laser focused on making sure that their clients achieve the best resolution possible in any legal matter.
Today, Shon is pretty excited. We're talking about some financial affidavits. Exciting right? Well, now before you go hitting "next page" hang on a sec. There really is something to be excited about when it comes to this financial affidavit because, it's designed to help cut through all the red tape that's been found over the years when it comes to financial disclosure in a divorce situation. One form, required to be filled out by both parties and submitted as opposed to mountains of subpoenas, questions of discovery, back and forth, round and round, up and down and yadda yadda yadda. This is a game changer in the simplification of the process of assets and liabilities and there's also a timeline in place to make things speed along in the process as well. From an attorney's perspective, it's a time saver, a reduction of the work load and it's a streamlining of the entire process that can help them better serve clients in an efficient and more cost effective manner. We even asked Shon if this will take away from the bottom line of the practice, and the answer was simple. "It's not about how much money I make, it's about how can I best serve my client." This new affidavit sure seems to be what's needed. Shon Cook Law on Facebook
Now, of course, every case is unique and you really do need to speak to Shon or a qualified attorney for specific answers to questions, but if you are in the process of a break up, this can certainly help things move along and help everyone too find a way to get back to life after a little quicker with a resolution that hopefully all parties can be comfortable with.
Take a listen to Shon as she describes in detail how this new document works and how she puts it to best use for her clients.
Passion for service. Passion for the process and constantly working to improve the way it works and how she can benefit her clients. To spend time weekly boiling it down past the "legal speak" and into terms anyone can easily understand, that's part of what makes Shon stand out! We're very fortunate to have her as one of our contributors here and if you find yourself in need of an attorney, she's the call to make. 231-894-0909. You can
