It's refreshing to meet people who care enough about our community to help rebuild and educate them.

Darius Mitchell was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan and graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1997.  Mr. Mitchell’s career has been primarily in business, although his real passion is mentoring teenagers, young adults and specifically young men. Being a mentor to young men is important to him. He understands the difficulties they face as he faced similar issues during his upbringing. Helping them find the motivation to become the best that they can be for themselves and their families is what really keeps him motivated.

Darius continuously volunteers his time in the community doing park clean ups, public speaking, hosting free events for children, and coaching.  Mr. Mitchell was recently designated as Muskegon’s precinct 2 delegate. He became a delegate to be able to sit at the table and help make changes in our system that needs to be changed He has been out throughout our community these past three months making sure that we vote and understand the importance of why we vote.

Currently there are only 238 people who voted in Precinct 2 the last election So Mr. Mitchell has been our paving the streets of Muskegon getting to know his community and registering last minute voters. He is determined to make sure our city has the right people in the right places and doing their jobs while in those positions.  You might have seen him in East Park Manor last weekend helping get people to do the census It takes people like him who don't mind getting our here to inform our community one on one.  Next week you will catch him in a car with a loud speaker and music telling you the importance of voting and get out and vote now So if you are at home and you hear get out and vote that's him coming to a neighborhood near you.

Darius is inspired by excellence in all things and his belief in this can be summed up by his favorite quote: "Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ‘Til your good is your better and your better is your best!"

If you have any questions about how to vote or where to vote please get in contact with Darius Mitchell. He will be happy to help you. Thank you Darius Mitchell for caring enough about our city to help improve it by getting a seat at the table.
