It’s our weekly update with Public Health Muskegon County Director Kathy Moore on COVID in our area.

We continue to see our number slide and that’s good news. We’ve not had an Omicron case identified in the county yet, but as it spreads, it’s thought it’s only a matter of time. We talk about the schools this year compared to last and a potential for a 2 week virtual learning pause after the break, Kathy has heard nothing definite, we’ll see what happens. On to the data sheets. The numbers continue to slide, but some of the data shows that those who do get sick are sick longer. Proof in the numbers from this year to last about the death rate post vaccination availability. Breakthrough cases. Why they happen and what it means. Some sad stats about children infected this week. Our local vaccination rates and Kathy’s final word before Christmas.
