The morning began with a little rain and a few people wondering if any work would happen at all that day, but as the sun emerged and the rainbows appeared in the morning hours to welcome in a Monday, so unfolded the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Community Choice Credit Union Member Center that will open in the spring of 2023 on the main corridor of Harvey Street.
Community Choice Credit Union merged with First General Credit Union a few years back and as they have been working to get acquainted with Muskegon in a friendly and non presumptuous way, we've been so very fortunate in the partnership we have because we got to see first hand the deeds and actions they are doing from scholarships for kids to the tune for $5000 a shot to supporting the causes and people that make the biggest differences in our community like Every Woman's Place, Child Abuse Council and more. Teacher supply boxes....community sponsorships and more....Community Choice Credit Union means it when they say they GIVE BIG.
Being invited to film a groundbreaking is an honor in and of itself, but when the "Neighbor Guy" just happens to be the Ogema of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians....the welcome is extra special. Larry Romanelli joined the CEO and staff of Community Choice Credit Union for a sacred blessing of the land which we were able to film for you too. Take a look.
It's an amazing time to be in Muskegon.
