In the middle of the arctic blast that is the end of 2022....those who are in the need of a little out of the house fun and awesome basketball action are gearing up for the 21st Muskegon Area Holiday Basketball Showcase coming to Reeths-Puffer High School on December 28th with the first tip off set to happen at 10am.
The Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame celebrates our local athletes and those who support them and the programs they participate in is the organization behind this huge event that draws teams in from all over West Michigan. Teams will be coming from as far away as Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Jenison to play our local teams like OV, Puffer and North Muskegon in tournament play that will continue on well into the evening. It's a $5 admission for a full day of basketball and it's one of those opportunities that you have to not only fill a day for next to nothing, you might see an emerging star on the hard court and be able to follow them on through their career.
This is also an opportunity to help the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame raise a little money for their organization to help honor those who are there to help the kids nd schools in their endeavors as well as their efforts off the field or court because sports plays such a significant role in the lives of the young people involved. As time has gone on too, the costs and time that it takes to support student athletes has not gotten any easier and the demand on parents, schools, booster clubs and more never ends. It's a communal effort to help the group continue their work and highlight those who stand out.
Tony Williams is part of the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame.. we chatted it up a little to get you the 4-1-1 in the 231. Take a listen.
Hey, what could be more fun than a day of excitement indoors seeing some serious prep basketball and supporting an event that supports those who help kids? For $5 you won't find a day more full of action and a better way to support the community. Save the date and plan on being at Reeths-Puffer High School for the first tip off at 10a.
