It's a staple event in Muskegon and one that has raised hundreds of thousands over the years to help Every Woman's Place battle domestic violence, sexual assault and trafficking.  The 2023 event is coming up quick and the deadline to get tickets even quicker!  Power of the Purse is on October 12th at the Barclay Place Event's Center and you are cordially invited....and your support is needed.

We've met Catherine Gage before. This however is her first year putting together the Power of the Purse event along with the volunteer committee that spends all year planning the party and stocking up on unique and fun items for the live and silent auction and of course....the designer purse auction that brings the top tier in all of fashion right there for you to bid big on the help the cause.  There are wine pulls, "Deals and Steals" to be had and of course, the participants in the runway auction will be strutting their stuff to see if they can come out on top as the bid winner.  It's a competitive and fun night and to help combat the issues Every Woman's Place faces, well, that's what Muskegon does best.

While Catherine might be new in the role of Development Director, the mission of Every Woman's Place is paramount.  From their website - "For over 45 years, Every Woman’s Place has led Muskegon County in responding to and healing the wounds of domestic violence. Each year, we meet more than 1,000 survivors of abuse and assault where they are in the wake of trauma. We follow the emergency with the daily work of empowering and healing survivors with counseling, victim advocacy, legal advocacy, housing, job training and financial literacy, and the personal support to break the cycle of power and control that leads to intergenerational violence."

GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!  Not only is the event coming up quickly, the ticket deadline rapidly approaches.  In planning and pulling off events like this, Every Woman's Place is best helped by knowing in advance how to plan for food and entertainment.  It's also helpful for set up of the room and, yes...a sold out event helps everyone rest a little easier.  SO!  We'll plan on seeing you at THE event of the fall season, POWER of the Purse on October 12th at Barclay Place!
