Sometimes a special dog just needs someone to help tell her story. Shannon Robson, a dedicated volunteer and special friend to Dior at Noah’s Project, reached out to Jodi asking for help with a very special case. Dior has been in the shelter far too long, and Shannon wanted people to have the chance to see the dog she has come to know and love—not just the dog they might see behind the shelter walls.
This week on Dog Blessed, we sit down with Shannon to talk about Dior, and, what she needs to finally find his happily ever after. We’ll learn more about the experiences that have shaped Dior, the wonderful qualities Shannon has discovered while spending time with her, and the type of home and person who could give this special girl the understanding, patience and love she deserves.
Dogs who spend a long time in a shelter can sometimes be overlooked simply because people don’t get the opportunity to see who they truly are. Their behavior in a kennel doesn’t always tell their whole story. Time, consistency, trust and a special relationship with a volunteer can reveal an entirely different dog. Shannon has taken the time to build that relationship with Dior, and she joins us to help people see the special dog she sees.
We’ll also talk about why finding the right home is so important. This isn’t simply about getting Dior out of the shelter—it’s about finding the person or family who understands what Dior needs and is willing to give her the opportunity to succeed. Every dog has a past, but that past doesn’t have to define their future. Sometimes all they need is someone willing to give them the chance to write a brand-new chapter.
Could you—or someone you know—be part of Dior’s happily ever after? Please watch, listen to Shannon share his story, and most importantly, share Dior. The right person may simply not know about her yet.
